Clinton County NY Pistol Permit Training

This course is a basic requirement for persons applying for a Clinton County NY Pistol Permit.  The course is approximately four hours in length and includes detailed handgun information, range safety rules, proper handgun shooting practices, proper firearms cleaning procedures, proper firearms storage, and general laws concerning handguns and their use.  All persons attending will be instructed in the fundamentals of shooting and receive hands on live fire  familiarization instruction using single action revolvers, double action revolvers, and semi-automatic pistols.  All firearms, ammunition, targets, eye protection, hearing protection will be provided for your use.  The class is instructed by a federally certified firearms instructor with over twenty five years of experience in the field of firearms safety.  ***NO PERSONALLY OWNED FIREARMS OR AMMUNITION OF ANY KIND IS ALLOWED ON THE PREMISES OR IN THE CLASSROOM- EVERYTHING WILL BE PROVIDED FOR YOU.***

Classes will be scheduled locally in the Plattsburgh, NY area on an intermittent basis (Saturdays and Sundays) throughout the year as weather permits.  These classes will be smaller consisting of no more than six students being scheduled per session to allow for more individualized one on one training with the instructor and to maximize retention of proper safety practices after the class.  Please email fnraft@yahoo.com to request the next available class date.  After a class date is generated (of at least 5 students) you will be advised of the next available class date via email, you will also be provided the information necessary to pre-pay online to lock in your seat - there are no refunds, you will be assigned the next available class if you are a no-show the assigned day of instruction.  Assignments are made on a first come, first served basis.  Payments can be made securely online using both PayPal and VENMO - the cost of the class is $110.00.  You will be provided a certificate of successful completion at the conclusion of this class to be used to continue your Clinton County pistol permit paperwork.

Required information to be registered for a class will include:  your full legal name, date of birth, physical mailing address, a working phone number and a valid email address.  You will be required to produce a photo ID the day of the class.
